Over the years, I’ve racked up a fair few hours of podcasting time. Some of this has been as a guest on other shows, but very often I’ve found podcasting a great way to do my own research or create limited run content on subjects close to my heart.

On this page, you’ll find links to just some of those podcasts…

Character and motivation in the Marvel Cinematic Universe: Phase One

In 12 years of podcasting this is the show I’m probably most proud of. Originally written and conceived in the early lockdown of 2020, this study of how comic book characters are translated to the screen in the first phase of the MCU sat idly on a hard drive until a year later when I had chance to record and edit it.

Why? Well, after I’d written the show, I was so excited by it that I thought I might do something more long-term with it, maybe a book or video series. But, for whatever reason, that kind of never happened. So, when I rediscovered all of the notes and recordings in February 2021, I decided to put it out as a podcast after all.

Tales From The Tapedeck

Alongside fellow podcaster and Pod Syndicate co-founder Marc Foster, this series allowed each of us to wax lyrical about our love for an artist or band that we loved and create a specially curated playlist designed to introduce the other to their work.

After covering Two Gallants, Cake, John Mayer and Ice-T & Body Count, we went in deep on a band we both love, Suede, to explore their long and illustrious career from their years with Bernard Butler through their long and glorious growth into indie-pop veterans.
